Symantec Acquires LifeLock, an Identity Theft Protection Company


📅 - Symantec Corporation, a security software company, has announced they have acquired Lifelock, an identity theft protection company. Symantec is responsible for products, such as the Norton line of security software for home-based PCs. The deal was reported to have cost the company $2.3 billion.

Lifelock is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and provides identity theft protection systems for consumers and businesses. Symantec intends to use the company to enhance the cybersecurity they provide and homes to readdress the lost revenues from the shift from PCs to mobile devices. Symantec also acquired Blue Coat Inc., recently for $4.65 billion.
