Largest Wind-Power Deal Signed by Microsoft for Wyoming Data Center
📅 - Microsoft recently announced the largest wind-power purchase when they made a deal to buy 237 megawatts of capacity in Kansas and Wyoming. The two projects providing the power are Black Hills Corporation's Happy Jack and Silver Sage wind farms in Wyoming and Allianz Risk Transfer AG's Bloom Wind Project in Kansas.
Along with the wind power, Microsoft made new arrangements with Black Hill's utility in Wyoming. These arrangements will provide backup generators for the data center as a secondary source of power. This allows the utility to avoid needing to build a new power plant.

WP Engine specializes in WordPress web hosting and was established in 2010. They are headquartered in Austin, Texas with offices in San Antonio, San Francisco, London and Limerick.
The new Payment Request tool is designed to help with desktop purchase conversions. It's set up to allow online stores to use the WP Engine E-commerce Toolkit for WooCommerce and provides faster and easier payment features for desktop users.

📅 - Courts in Russia ban LinkedIn with Twitter and Facebook Possibly Following - The business social network LinkedIn was recently banned by a Russian court. This was done due to the fear of data security within the country. This was done with amendments to the Personal Data Laws in Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin also banned government offices in the country from using Microsoft products. He's afraid these products may lead to a data security issue.
Microsoft owns LinkedIn, which is the reason for the ban. Only about five million users are found in Russian. The courts also threatened to ban any companies storing data of Russian citizens on servers not Russian-owned and located within the country. This could impact Twitter and Facebook, as well.
