📅 - After the election of Donald Trump, the stock market bounced back in every sector benefiting from a larger economy, except for technology. Stocks in the computer and software areas suffered losses and were a part of the FANG block, which stands for Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Google.
Each of the FANG stocks dropped by at least 1.9% and the Nasdaq 100 dropped by 1.6%, which is the most since September 9th.
Some are concerned with the possibility of policies from Trump on overseas trade, which is one area US technology companies thrive. However, others don't think it's about the election, considering the group has surged by about 11% in 2016.

📅 - Trump Victory Will Not Threaten EU Privacy Shield Agreement - Following the historic election of Donald Trump, U.S. officals have pledged their continued commitment to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. The agreement is a trans-Atlantic data transfer pact which companies spanning the globe rely on.
“We have a real expectation that a new administration would come in and follow through on what's been done,” Ted Dean, the deputy assistant secretary for services at the U.S. Department of Commerce said on Wednesday. 📅 - Russian Hackers Target U.S. Think Tanks - American think tanks are now being targeted by Russian hackers in a spearphishing campaign following the recent historic election. Spearphishing is a fake email technique that tricks the victim into giving the hackers total access to their computer and data. The fake emails are claiming to be related to Tuesday's vote. John Podesta, the Clinton camapign's chief of staff, was recently a victim of spearphishing and had his emails leaked recently.
The attacks are being blamed on Russian hackers known as COZY BEAR or APT29. These same hackers are being blamed for the Democratic National Committee hack and the following leaks.

📅 - Kubernetes Support from Microsoft Azure Extended - Recently, Microsoft Azure has announced the extension of Kubernetes Support, the Mesosphere Datacenter Operating System and Docker Swarm. Updates will be rolled out and a preview release of Kubernetes 1.4 was shown off at KubeCon.

📅 - Major Stake of United Internet to be Sold - United Internet has announced they will sell a major stake in their web hosting business, which is headquartered in Montabaur, Germany. The company is a major player with many global brands including WEB.DE, GMX, 1&1, Arsys, Fasthosts and mail.com. The total number of customers tops 16 million combined.
The deal is reportedly worth $497 million, which is the price Warburg Pincus has agreed to pay. Warburg Pincus is headquartered in New York City and was established in 1966. They also have a presence in Brazil, India, China and Europe. They will acquire a 33% stake in United Internet's Business Applications Unit.

📅 - 90 Percent of Data Center Traffic Will be Cloud by 2020 - By the year 2020, cloud data center traffic will cross the 14 zettabytes. That is a huge increase, 262 percent, from 2015. This information comes from the Cisco Global Cloud Index, which was released Thursday. The report also projects that 92 percent of all workloads being processed in the cloud by 2020.
Cisco reports that a majority of the workloads processed will flip from private to public cloud this year. With the public cloud growth continuing by 35 percent.

📅 - Courts in Russia ban LinkedIn with Twitter and Facebook Possibly Following - The business social network LinkedIn was recently banned by a Russian court. This was done due to the fear of data security within the country. This was done with amendments to the Personal Data Laws in Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin also banned government offices in the country from using Microsoft products. He's afraid these products may lead to a data security issue.
Microsoft owns LinkedIn, which is the reason for the ban. Only about five million users are found in Russian. The courts also threatened to ban any companies storing data of Russian citizens on servers not Russian-owned and located within the country. This could impact Twitter and Facebook, as well.
