Report Shows AWS Has Twice the Market Share of Microsoft, IBM and Google Combined
📅 - When it comes to the public cloud market, AWS or Amazon Web Services has a 45% share of the worldwide market. This is more than twice as much as the next three largest provides combined, according to Synergy Research Group.
Amazon, IBM, Microsoft and Google are the largest cloud providers in the world with more than half of the worldwide market share and it's growing every day. AWS also has nearly the same amount of Public PaaS as Salesforce, IBM and Microsoft combined. However, IBM is the dominate company in the Managed Private Cloud Sector.

📅 - DreamHost and SparkCentral Partner to Create Social Customer Service Channel - Web hosting company DreamHost recently announced their unique partnership with social customer service provider SparkCentral. The partnership will allow DreamHost to help SparkCentral deliver fast, reliable customer service via their social media accounts – something SparkCentral has been doing for years, but without this type of technical support.
The partnership will allow SparkCentral to collect user information privately and securely without forcing their customers to “channel-hop” in an effort to quickly connect with a customer service representative.

📅 - Alphabet Inc. Recruits Google Executive to Step In for CEO Barratt - Google co-founder Larry Page has appointed Jonathon Rosenberg to head up Google Fiber. After a rough patch for Google's robotics division in 2015, Page brought in Rosenberg to right the ship. Jonathon Rosenberg has been a longtime Google product executive as well as an adviser to Page.
This move comes after former Access Chief Executive Officer Craig Barrat's decision to step down earlier this week. The appointment of Rosenberg indicates Google's tightening up the fiscal discipline, while an Alphabet spokeswoman declined to comment.

This led to a statement from the Smart Card Alliance, which stated that security should be embedded in internet-facing systems and devices, just as it should be in smart cards.
With the estimate of 21 billion devices being connected to the internet by 2020, it's important to secure every device. The Alliance believes some of the reasons for the attacks is the growing number of devices connected to the internet.

📅 - Alibaba’s Quarterly Growth Exceeds Expectations - Expectations of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. quarterly sales were shattered as the company exceeded earlier projections. The company reported on Wednesday a 55 percent increase in revenue, growing even as the Chinese economy appears to be slowing.
“At this rate, Alibaba's cloud unit could break even as soon as next quarter. The company's ability to make money from advertisers on its core e-commerce platforms has also improved.” reported Li Muzhi, a Hong Kong based analyst at Arete Research Services LLP.
