Aug, 2010 : Global Data Systems Partners with Nimsoft
📅 - Global Data Systems chooses the company for unified monitoring of clients' cloud infrastructures.
Nimsoft, a provider of unified monitoring solutions, recently announced that Global Data Systems (GDS), a provider of network solutions, will deploy the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) to replace multiple tools in its network operations center (NOC).
The company articulates that NMS enables unified monitoring of client infrastructures - virtually eliminating the need to manage and integrate multiple disparate monitoring tools - while adding significant value with an intuitive client-facing portal and automated alerting features. NMS also supports GDS's strategic migration to more virtualized, cloud-based infrastructure.
According to it, GDS currently runs 11 different tools in its NOC to provide clients with complete monitoring, trend analysis, historical analysis and trouble-ticketing. By deploying NMS, GDS expects to eliminate seven of those systems; thereby significantly reducing its technology integration and ownership costs. NMS will also reduce GDS's scripting and management workloads without compromising functionality. The company adds that GDS clients will benefit from the added visibility and insight that NMS will give them into their infrastructures, as well as from the reduced costs resulting from GDS's own cost savings.
"NMS helps service providers like GDS deliver significant value to their clients by enhancing capabilities while reducing costs," said Gary Read, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nimsoft. "As GDS continues to evolve its cloud offerings, Nimsoft will continue to develop solutions that keep pace with their innovation."
"Our value proposition centers around freeing up resources for our clients, so they can focus on their core competencies and not worry about IT," said Chris Wickman, Managed Services Manager at GDS. "By unifying our monitoring services with NMS, our clients will be able to more easily access the real-time information they need about the health and performance of their applications - and GDS will be better able to offer competitively differentiated cloud offerings."
