👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Thursday that it has launched a new disaster recovery service for dedicated server and enterprise customers.

The company says it offers automated, secure backup and web-based data recovery to protect critical data against hardware failure, data corruption or natural disaster.

The service employs Symantec Recovery Solution, which synchronizes and continuously replicates files, databases and application servers to a Chicago data center, creating an off-site recovery copy.

According to the announcement, the company has created an information page that provides more information on its disaster recovery solutions. At the time of publication, the link provided was delivering a 404 error page. But there is a link to the same URL directly from the home page of the company's site, so the problem is unlikely to last very long.

"MaximumASP also provides a full suite of backup and recovery options allowing our customers to schedule restore points on an ongoing basis, perform selective file or folder recovery, and true bare metal restore capability to quickly recover an entire server after a system disaster," says Cory Jett, systems engineer at MaximumASP, quoted in the press release. "Data protection and recovery is a critical component of every company's reliability and disaster planning. The Symantec Recovery Solution software combined with our state-of-the-art network and data center infrastructure gives our customers levels of reliability that wouldn't otherwise be possible on their own."

In January, MaximumASP announced that it was offering test accounts on its new MaxV VPS hosting product, built using Microsoft's Hyper-V hypervisor software.
