Dec 12, 2008 : MaximumASP To Get $144k Tax Credit

📅 December 12, 2008 - Kentucky web hosting provider MaximumASP (maximumASP.com ) has been approved for tax incentives worth $144,000 following the construction of a $3.1 million data center to span up to 40,000 square feet.

According to Louisville's chamber of commerce and economic development agency (greaterlouisville.com) as reported by local paper The Courier-Journal Thursday, MaximumASP's expansion will create five new jobs with a combined salary of $208,000. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority was the body that approved the incentives, which by will take the form of sales tax refunds.

Tax incentives have long been used to make states more suitable for data center development including Missouri and Iowa.

Using tax incentives to help draw industry to the state, The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has also granted preliminary approval to autopart maker Dana Corporation (dana.com) for $4 million in tax incentives for an expansion that would add 254 jobs.

Generating $177 billion in annual GDP (roughly the equivalent of Portugal's GDP) according to 2007 numbers, Kentucky is number 38 in terms of its contributions to America's wealth.
