📅 - Global technology event Interop (interop.com) Las Vegas 2008 has persuaded more than 75 percent of business technology buyers that attended the event to made purchases within six months, according to a recent survey by TechWeb (techweb.com), the IT news and information firm that produces Interop and publishes Information Week.
According to TechWeb's Thursday announcement, the Interop survey, which polled more than 400 Interop 2008 attendees via email, goes on to reveal that even more buyers plan to make purchases in 2009. The average amount spent after attending Interop Las Vegas 2008 increased from the year prior, increasing from $628,296 in the 6 months following Interop Las Vegas 2007 to $671,487 following Interop Las Vegas 2008. Also, 94 percent of Interop attendees play a role in purchasing IT products and services.
"Interop attendees have always been the ones to drive the market," Interop general manager Lenny Heymann said in a statement. "For over 20 years technology companies have looked to Interop to reach buyers that actually have money to spend. Now, more than ever, this is a major priority, and the Buyer's Survey is proof that Interop is the place to find the right, quality audience."
Interop Las Vegas 2009 is happening at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas May 17 to 21. It will feature topics such as cloud computing, virtualization, mobility and Green IT, as well as host more than 400 exhibitors.
