📅 - IT company DynaSis (dynasis.com) recently announced it has built a data center in downtown Atlanta, designed to house the mission-critical IT equipment of small to medium businesses.
The news follows last month's announcement from AtlantaNAP, Global Net Access' Atlanta colocation facility, which plans to expand its Enterprise Data Center 2 in the Atlanta area by adding another 13,500 square feet of available space.
According to DynaSis, the facility ensures a secure and resilient location to house mission-critical equipment, with 24-hour server and environmental monitoring systems and management personnel, digital video surveillance cameras, electronic access cards, and biometric retina and fingerprint authentication scanners.
The facility is served by 6 high speed optical connections from a range of providers, including AT&T, Sprint, Level 3, Time Warner Telecom and WorldCom.
The center has generator backup support, a high capacity UPS and automatic transfer switch, assuring that customers' data is protected in the case of an outage.
"Our primary feed is through Internap, the most highly rated backbone provider in the US," says David Moorman, president of DynaSis. "Internap's ability to intelligently route traffic for maximum throughput is unsurpassed. They also have superior abilities to detect and quickly respond to threats and traffic issues. Our investment in this upstream provider is well justified."
The data center combines a high level of infrastructure with a computing grid that DynaSis manages its customer's sites, databases, and applications.
The architecture is over-engineered to provide redundancy at every possible point of failure, including multiple high speed feeds to the Internet backbone, re-generated power via a dedicated 3 grid substation.
At the core network level, high speed, high capacity network equipment is used to ensure throughput and best routing over the Internet that uses top of the line network equipment for maximum performance.
DynaSis manages its own network, allowing a fast and effective response to any issue that may arise in the hosting environment.
