According to the company's announcement Monday, Patrick Solutions's data center features redundant power with automatic switching to an onsite generator in the case of power interuptions, assuring customers virtually no downtime. The purpose-built facility's main focus is to safeguard all resident data, hardware and software using multiple layers of security.

Having provided consulting and data marketing services for more than eight years, Patrick Solutions has opened its own data center to offer its own information systems and data security for the growing day-to-day business and compliance requirements placed on firms.

Columbus, Ohio has been the site of much action over the past few years. In 2003, tier-1 optical Internet service provider Cogent Communications Group (cogentco.com) acquired the Internet service division of major Internet access and colocation provider Fiber Network Solutions (fnsolutions.net), headquartered in Columbus. According to the deal, Cogent gained control of Fiber Network Solutions' data center operations in that city.
