Jan, 2009 : Internap Hosts Sharedband Highspeed Service

📅 January 5, 2009 - Online service provider Internap Network Services (internap.com -> inap.com) announced on Monday that it is providing IP network and data center colocation services to UK-based Sharedband (sharedband.com) to expand its operations and offer its network solution in the US, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sharedband Technologies.

Internap announced a previous customer win in September with Million Dollar Round Table, an association of financial professionals, providing the organization with customized streaming media services delivery.

Sharedband offers a unique high-speed broadband Internet service by combining broadband lines including DSL, cable, T1, wireless and fiber connections from major Internet providers to offer both a faster, more resilient Internet service for residential and business customers.

The broadband Internet carrier provides Internet access to the millions of homes and businesses that could not otherwise receive high-speed broadband Internet service because of the geographic limitations of the carrier's infrastructure by aggregating local bandwidth connections.

According to the press release, the company's software helps "create faster upload and download speeds and more resilient connections for business sites anywhere using existing lines."

Internap's bundled data center colocation and performance IP networking services offer a 100 percent performance service level agreement.

Based on its patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer technology, the performance IP platform monitors Internet performance across multiple backbones to choose the best path for content to travel.

The platform also integrates seamlessly with Internap's enterprise data center locations at 44 sites throughout the world, giving businesses a vehicle to successfully manage websites and network intensive applications.
