👈 Official Responses: 0) has added R1Soft's (r1soft.com) Continuous Data Protection to its service offerings to provide an upscale backup solution for its self-managed dedicated servers and managed hosting.


According to the software developer's announcement late last week, Ikoula will offer its enterprise customers the premium backup service bundled with secured storage. With more than 4,000 business hosting customers, Ikoula plans start at 20 Euros per month, with a MySQL add-on for an extra 15 Euros, including 10 gigabytes on a secured storage platform which is scalable up to several terabytes.

Ikoula selected R1Soft CDP over competing backup solutions for several significant features including the ability to delegate admin rights to customers, scalability, API and email reports. R1Soft CDP also allows for quick and easy implementation across Windows and Linux platforms, an essential capability that will enable them to centrally manage all of their backups from one centralized location in their heterogeneous data center.

"After searching for a backup solution for over a year, we finally found R1Soft CDP," Ikoula marketing director Arnaud Tayac said in a statement. Through its own research and development, Ikoula has custom-designed its own highly-secure, climate controlled, 2000 square meter (or roughly 6,560 square feet) data center, where it hosts more than 3,000 servers, featuring many internally developed monitoring tools and services including its own platform "Ikexpress," which provides the architecture of its dedicated servers. With 10 years of hosting experience, Ikoula offers a wide range of services from domain name registration to shared and virtualized hosting to co-location racks.

Less than one month ago, R1Soft released version 2.0 of its CDP software for Windows and Linux servers, which featured shorter backup windows and better data protection via file and image-based bare-metal restores.
