👈 Official Responses: 0) has announced that it will offer R1Soft's (r1soft.com) Continuous Data Protection software, making Hostway the latest high-profile hosting company to help its dedicated server and enterprise customers protect their critical data using the CDP service.

According to Hostway's Tuesday announcement, the new CDP service offers an automated, secure backup and web-based data recovery solution, assuring organization they can quickly recover key information in the event of hardware failure, data corruption or a range of unforeseen circumstances.

As part of its announcement, Hostway is giving new customers a 30 day free trial of CDP for for Linux and Windows servers, and MySQL.

Hostway's partnership with R1Soft lets the company deliver R1Soft's complete portfolio of customizable backup solutions, ranging from a managed backup and recovery service to a high-performance, dedicated CDP Center capable of protecting large numbers of servers.

Hostway's solutions let clients schedule restore points on an ongoing basis, recover select files or folders, and perform true bare metal restores to recover an entire server after a system disaster. Also, the optional off-site configuration leverages the Hostway's global data center and broadband footprint to provide an added level of security by separating customers' data from their production servers.

"Effective data protection and recovery is a critical component of every company's reliability and disaster planning. Our new backup solutions protect customers' data with point-in-time snapshots and rolling retention," Hostway enterprise hosting director Todd Benjamin said in a statement. "By combining superior software with our state-of-the-art network and data center infrastructure, we make possible levels of reliability that our customers couldn't hope to achieve on their own."

The new data protection and recovery services are the latest in a portfolio of enterprise- class infrastructure and management solutions available to enhance the availability, security and performance of online and corporate IT applications based on the Hostway global network of redundant, state-of-the-art data centers. In addition to data backup, Hostway offers dedicated servers and managed services, firewalls, intrusion detection and load balancing.

In late October, R1Soft officially launched its Continuous Data Protection 2.0 software for Windows and Linux servers, giving users shorter backup windows and better data protection with its both file and image-based bare-metal restores.
