Aug 20, 2008 : iNET Buys Search Marketing Standard

📅 August 20, 2008 - Print magazine Search Marketing Standard (searchmarketingstandard.com) has been acquired by media corporation iNET Interactive (inetinteractive.com) in a deal that will expand iNET's media portfolio serving internet professionals and technology enthusiasts.


According to the announcement Wednesday, iNET now controls Search Marketing Standard along with its web properties serving the Search Marketing industry SearchMarketingStandard.com, PayPerClickUniverse.com and SEMCompare.com.

"We are very excited to be able to add Search Marketing Standard to iNET Interactive's portfolio of media brands," iNET president and chief executive officer Troy Augustine said in a statement. "Search Marketing Standard is a strong brand, and it is a perfect complement to our strengths in the web development and web hosting areas."

Founded by Boris and Eugene Mordkovich, Search Marketing Standard launched in early 2006 seeking to provide readers with "practical, relevant and easy-to-understand Internet Marketing information." Before being sold to iNET, Search Marketing Standard magazine had grown its circulation to more than 50,000, including influential search engine advertisers and Internet marketers.

"Troy and his team fully embrace the commitment our team has given to our loyal readers and advertisers in producing a high-quality publication and online media properties." Boris Mordkovich said in a statement. "We have complete confidence that iNET Interactive will continue to grow and develop Search Marketing Standard with the same energy and dedication that we poured into it."

According to Search Marketing Standard, its websites contain interactive content including user-contributed ratings, reviews and discussion boards alongside instructional content for search and internet marketing professionals.

This is the latest acquisition by iNET, which operates online web hosting and hosted services community Web Hosting Talk (webhostingtalk.com) and web development script directory Hot Scripts (hotscripts.com). In July, iNET acquired the HostingCon (hostingcon.com) conference and trade show from Interjuncture (interjuncture.com).
