📅 August 19, 2008 - IT and communications services provider Apptis (apptis.com) announced on Tuesday it has partnered with web hosting provider ServerVault (servervault.com) to offer a cloud computing environment to federal agencies.


The Apptis/ServerVault Trusted Cloud (fedcloud.com) offering will provide federal agencies a cloud computing platform that increasess the efficiency and productivity of their IT systems by delivering a flexible, highly secure, fully-managed and federally compliant computing infrastructure, as well as application support services.

"Introducing a secure and federally compliant cloud computing environment for our clients will dramatically enhance operational efficiencies and improve the performance of their networked IT infrastructure," says Bert Notini, chairman and CEO of Apptis. The Trusted Cloud is based on a hosted services model that adheres to strict federal agency security and policy IT requirements.

From a defined and extensive federally compliant service catalog, a customer will be able to customize a combination of computing components that are provisioned, managed and delivered in a highly secure manner with performance-driven, SLA-based guaranteed delivery.

The Trusted Cloud is currently in alpha testing, with a beta release that will include agency participation to soon follow.

Apptis provides IT and communications services to the federal government, offering enterprise-wide capabilities including software and system engineering, enterprise management, network engineering, information assurance and program management.

ServerVault provides customized, highly secure, fully managed infrastructure solutions for sensitive and critical federal government and commercial organization applications.

In other cloud computing news, IBM opened its ninth cloud computing center in Tokyo, earlier this month, providing large enterprise customers, universities and governments with immediate access to the resources they need to pilot cloud infrastructures and applications and deliver new and innovative services to their customers.
