Aug 14, 2008 : TRES Acquires California Data Center
📅 - Telecom Real Estate Services recently bought a 69.626 square foot operating Data Center including a tape library in the upscale Sacramento suburb of Rancho Cordova available for lease through TelAxis (telaxis.com).
According to a Thursday announcement by TRES, the new data center is a free-standing secure building with 40,000 square feet of 24-inch raised floor and approximately 27,000 square feet available for servers operating at over 100 watts per square foot. The Sacramento facility supplies 7000 amps of electrical power, seven diesel generators, six new UPS units providing 3500kva at N+1, 24 power-distribution units. TRES currently has systems in place to supply 976 tons of cooling to the raised floor with plans to upgrade and condition all systems to ensure they are running in optimum condition for new tenants. TRES has developed other carrier hotel facilities including its Los Angeles carrier center. The Rancho Cordova data center, located far from the 500-year flood plain problem that plagues many areas of Sacramento, is joining a neighborhood of other data centers, housing operations including the State of California, Sprint, eBay, EDS, Progressive Insurance, McKesson, Barclays Global, Qwest, Aerospace and Sempra Energy.
