📅 - Data protection provider R1Soft (r1soft.com) has publicly released a beta version of its Windows 2.0 Continuous Data Protection, a software that the company promises will significantly expand the scale and reach of data protection technologies for Windows servers.
According to the announcement Tuesday, the new CDP agent offers a variety of key features, including Bare-Metal Restore, Open File backups, and backup windows reduced to minutes using CDP synchronization technology. R1Soft's highly anticipated data protection solution is the only software capable of continuous backup for both Windows and Linux servers simultaneously, letting administrators manage their environment of choice, according to the company.
"While R1Soft happens to be the only Continuous Data Protection solution for Linux servers, the Windows market has long been familiar with CDP technology," BBS Technologies R1Soft division vice president David Wartell said in a statement. "Most IT administrators who try our CDP software for Linux say, 'Wow that was so easy. R1Soft reduced my Linux server backup window from 8 hours to 15 minutes. Can you do that for Windows too?'"
The Windows 2.0 CDP agent support Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms and is available as a free upgrade for R1Soft Windows customers.
In late June, R1Soft partnered with web hosting provider Cirrus Tech (cirrustech.com) to provide dedicated server customers with its CDP services. Earlier in the year, R1Soft has offered its protection services to many hosting companies including Geek Storage (geekstorage.com👉 Total Reviews: 2 🙌 Average Rating: 5.5 / 10 👍 Good Reviews: 1 👎 Bad Reviews: 1 👈 Official Responses: 0) and Future Hosting (futurehosting.biz -> futurehosting.com -> nexcess.net).
