Nov 28, 2007 : BBS Technologies Acquires R1Soft

📅 November 28, 2007 - IT infrastructure provider BBS Technologies (bbstek.com) announced on Wednesday it has acquired backup and data recovery solutions provider R1Soft (r1soft.com).

The combination is a natural fit for both companies, enabling BBS to strengthen its position in the Windows systems management market and enabling R1Soft to benefit from BBS Technologies' strong distribution channel, support capabilities, and engineering resources.

"The acquisition of R1Soft expands our footprint in the Windows backup and recovery space as well as extending our reach into the fast growing Linux Server market," says Rick Pleczko, president and CEO at BBS Technologies. "As Linux and MySQL play key roles in organizations worldwide, this announcement represents an important step in positioning us to meet a broader set of customer needs during 2008 and beyond. We welcome the R1Soft team and products into our company."

R1Soft will immediately be integrated as a division of BBS Technologies headed up by R1Soft founder and CEO David Wartell. R1Soft will continue to pursue its existing product development goals, and existing employees will continue to work under the new division.

Web hosting provider Pegasus Web Technologies recently announced it is offering R1Soft's CDP, which stores point-in-time snap shots in disk-based storage.
