Nov 21, 2007 : Optinuity Speaks at Data Center Event

📅 - IT automation solution provider Optinuity (optinuity.com) announced on Tuesday that its CEO will be speaking at IT analyst firm Gartner's annual Data Center Conference (gartner.com/us/datacenter) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Scott Stouffer will present as part of the event's Solution Provider sessions and will address why enterprises need to evolve beyond the traditional model of IT management and adopt autonomic policy management solutions. Stouffer adds that a key theme of his address will be an automation approach that enables enterprises to create and deploy autonomic policies in order to achieve self-management for critical business applications in the data center.

"In recent years, the complexity of managing the data center, both systems and applications, has been rapidly accelerating and is actually a barrier to growth," says Stouffer. "The traditional approach of adding point solutions to deal with issues as they arise is costly and inefficient and it contributes to the growing management burden of data center executives. What's needed is a system that can head off crises without human intervention."

Stouffer's session will be on November 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PST.

Last month, Gartner released a report predicting that by 2011 more than 70 percent of US enterprise data centers will face tangible disruptions related to energy consumption, floor space and costs.
