May, 2001 : Netisun Acquires Velocity Integration Inc.

📅 May 4, 2001 - Indianapolis, Indiana-based Netisun LLC (netisun.com), a leading provider of connectivity, hosting services and network management, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Velocity Integration Inc., a network integration and IT consulting firm.

According to Netisun, the acquisition of Velocity will allow Netisun to take its managed server, hosting and network consulting services to the next level.
Also headquartered in Indianapolis, Velocity Integration started operation in October of 1999. The company focused on providing standardized managed hosting and network integration solutions.
A full-service systems technology business, providing high-speed connectivity, hosted applications and hardware to Midwest business clients, Netisun was formed in August of 2000 as a consolidation of three existing technology providers.
Although Netisun declined to release any details of the acquisition, Velocity says that the synergies between the companies are substantial, and that by joining Netisun's team, the company will be able to expand services and approach new markets faster than it would have individually.
Following the purchase, Netisun says it will be able to offer added capabilities for shared Web hosting, dedicated Web hosting, managed firewall services, managed back-up, network integration and professional services. The Netisun team will focus on server management, network reliability, operating system performance, and management of database applications.
