May 9, 2001 : InFlow Signs Up 500th Customer
📅 - InFlow Inc. (inflow.com), a leading provider of Internet data center and managed services, announced on Tuesday that it had signed up its 500th customer. PlayNet, a well-known online entertainment and game site, has become the latest Inflow client.
PlayNet says that in preparing for the launch of its new online game product this summer, it recognized the need for a reliable, high-performance Internet service to handle the increased demands it anticipates for its site. PlayNet decided to move from its previous provider to InFlow because of its InFlowNet Internet service, which guarantees 100 percent availability.
According to PlayNet, its Web site is the critical part of its business, and outsourcing was not a decision the company took lightly. It says that after evaluating the leading providers in managed services, it chose InFlow for its reputation for customer service and staying power.
Along with the announcement of its 500th customer, InFlow said that it had enjoyed solid results in the first quarter of 2001. The company's revenue increased by more than 25 percent from the fourth quarter of 2000, its eighth consecutive quarter of better than 20 percent growth.
The company also closed a $75 million debt financing in March, bringing its total capital raised to more than $300 million. InFlow now runs 18 data centers in the United States and Europe, totaling more than 600,000 square feet of space in operation.
