May 11, 2001 : Intel Wins Two Network Computing Awards
📅 - Intel Corporation announced on Thursday that its e-commerce networking products earned two Well-Connected Awards from Network Computing magazine at this week's Networld+Interop trade show.
Network Computing says the Well-Connected awards are given to products, technologies and services that have withstood testing in the magazine's Real-World Labs, and proven essential in meeting business initiatives. The awards are designed to indicate that a product is at the top in its category.
The Intel NetStructure 7280 XML Director won in the e-Commerce Acceleration Device category. The product is a network device designed to accelerate and control secure XML-based Internet transactions, and increase the speed and reliability of business-to-business e-commerce.
The High-Availability Hosting Solution category was won by a combination of several products from the Intel NetStructure product family. The winning solution includes the Intel NetStructure 7180 e-Commerce Director, a device designed to combine e-commerce acceleration and application-aware traffic management; the NetStructure 1500 Cache, a product designed to improve bandwidth use at a lower cost than traditional caching solutions; and the NetStructure 7190 Multi-Site Traffic Director, a traffic management solution designed to direct customer traffic to the highest-performing server.
According to Intel, since the launch of its NetStructure family of products in February of 2000, the line has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Networld+Interop Spring 2000 Best of Show Grand Prize Award, InternetWeek's Best of the Best 2000 Hardware Award, and an InternetWeek Approved Award.
Intel says its NetStructure products are sold as communications building blocks at various levels of integration, and are designed to enable computer, networking and telecom equipment manufacturers to bring their products and solutions to market quickly and easily. Its customers include HP, Compaq, Fujitsu, NEC, Hitachi, Samsung and others.
