📅 May 11, 2001 - Qwest Communications International Inc. (qwest.com -> lumen.com), a leading broadband Internet communications company, announced on Thursday that it has introduced two new Web hosting services: Qwest Storage Services and Performance Managed Hosting.

The company says the new offerings enhance Qwest's broad portfolio of Web hosting and managed services, designed to provide businesses of all sizes with reliable, cost-effective solutions for managing complex e-business environments.
Qwest says it provides much more than colocation and basic hosting with one of the industry's broadest sets of managed solutions. The company feels the new services it is introducing will further enhance its set of solutions.
The Qwest Storage Services offering is designed to allow companies to easily create, access and protect data generated by their e-business operations. The solution includes technology from Hitachi Data Systems and EMC, and a 99.999 percent service level agreement. The storage services can be used with any of Qwest's dedicated hosting offerings.
The Performance Managed Hosting service introduced by Qwest is designed to managed the customer's environment through the entire operating system, including bandwidth use, disk space use and monitoring of CPU load. The service includes two service level agreement options, including a 99.5 percent standard uptime guarantee, and a new fault resilient 99.95 percent uptime guarantee.
Qwest says its portfolio of Web hosting solutions spans the range of needs experienced by companies looking to outsource their operations. The company says Its solutions lower the barrier to entry into e-business, while taking advantage of the Qwest all-optical nationwide IP network.
