Jun, 2001 : Globix Opens New York and London Data Centers

📅 - Advanced Internet hosting provider Globix Corporation (http://www.globix.com) announced on Wednesday that it has opened two new state-of-the-art data centers in New York City and London in response to a continued demand it perceives for its hosting, network and applications services in city-center locations.

The new Globix data centers, like the company's existing facilities, have dual connections to area power grids, redundant uninterruptible power supply systems and backup generators, 24 x 7 x 365 on-site monitoring and technical staffing, advanced biometric security and redundant temperature control and fire suppression systems.
According to Globix, the two new centers combined add nearly 400,000 square feet to the company's total, and are both connected to Globix's high-speed global backbone network.
``Globix has constructed these new facilities in response to continued demand for our services,'' said Marc H. Bell, chairman and CEO of Globix. ``Designed to meet the needs of companies looking for ways to cut costs and increase performance, our data centers provide the facilities platform for secure, scaleable, and managed Internet infrastructure solutions for business. The new Globix data centers offer large, contiguous spaces well suited for expansive enterprise applications.''
``We are finding that corporate customers are turning to Globix because the depth and breadth of our services address many of their complex outsourcing requirements, including managed services, Internet security, network connectivity and VPNs, as well as application services in streaming media and messaging. By leveraging our data centers, network backbone and application services together Globix offers significant advantages to businesses that single component providers can't deliver.''
