👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Monday that it had forged a partnership with PHP software developer Zend Technologies (zend.com).
Zend is an international provider of commercial solutions designed to enhance performance and productivity of PHP, the open source server side Web site scripting language. And according to Rackspace's Web site, the company has long been a supporter of PHP, and is a leader in providing Linux based Web hosting.
According to the companies, the partnership will bundle Rackspace's Web hosting services with Zend's PHP solutions, including a platform designed to help developers build sophisticated Web applications.
Rackspace says the deal will be a big benefit for its customers, many of whom power their Web sites with PHP technology. Now Rackspace customers will receive Zend's software bundled with their hosting accounts, and new customers will be given promotional pricing on Zend's Developers Server Suite or the Zend Cache, a product designed to enhance the performance and efficiency of PHP-driven Web sites.
Zend's Developer Server Suite is designed to provide constant updates to the company's products. It includes the Zend IDE for PHP to speed code development time, the Zend LaunchPad for updated PHP downloads, the Zend Encoder Unlimited for protecting intellectual property, and the Zend Support Online Services for access to a team of Zend experts.
