Berwind Property Group selected the Managed Operations for Microsoft GreatPlains service to allow its chain of traditional, upscale hotels to focus onservicing its clients. The company, which is based in Washington, DC,currently owns and manages The Melrose Hotel (melrosehotel.com) whichoperates in Dallas, Washington, DC, and New York City. Berwind also owns thehistoric Southern Hotel in Columbus, OH.
Warren Winslow, Melrose Hotel's vice president and controller, said that inchoosing Cargas and the Managed Operations service for Microsoft GreatPlains' Dynamics, he found a solution that can keep up with Melrose Hotel'sgrowth. "We recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation on ournewest hotel in Washington, DC. As Berwind Property Group continues to growits hotel portfolio, it becomes clear we needed to find an application withthe ability to scale and contribute to our operational success," he said.

Melrose Hotels will use several Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics modules suchas Crystal Reports, FRx Advanced, General Ledger, Payables and ReceivablesManagement, Bank Reconciliation, and Payroll Connect.
The Managed Operations service includes secure, reliable, around-the-clocksystems engineering, network management, and help-desk support. ManagedOpsdelivers the applications over a network for a cost-efficient andpredictable monthly fee.
