📅 - E2open, a global collaboration network for the electronics industry, has announced it selected IBM Global Services (ibm.com/services) for Web hosting and network management services-helping E2open rapidly deploy collaboration networks for its customers in the electronics industry.

The IBM Global Services solution allows users to select from a broad rangeof managed services including network infrastructure, operating systems,middleware, databases and applications. With the solution, companies cancreate customized network infrastructures that address particular businessrequirements, and use these networks to deliver products and services tomarket quickly. IBM's Web hosting services also make it easy to add capacityand network connections.
As part of the solution, E2open is participating in the management of keyelements of the hosted environment, including root access, hardware andsoftware support and overall system monitoring. This shared managementapproach allows companies with specific technical expertise, such as E2open,to play an active role in supporting customer networks. It also illustratesthe variety of different hosted solutions-including both fully to partiallymanaged environments-which IBM can deliver. In addition, the solution helpsto satisfy two of the five key requirements for a Global CollaborationNetwork E2open outlined last May: enterprise-ready reliability and globalscalable networking.

IBM is providing Web hosting services for E2open production, staging andintegration environments in its co- location facility in San Jose,California and Universal Server Farms (USF) in St. Louis, Mo. and Boulder,Colo., as well as managing caching facilities in North America, Asia andEurope. IBM enables redundant network connections between data centers andthe Internet through multiple carriers. IBM provides E2open with the highperformance data centers, redundancy and disaster recovery services, storageand backup, and monitoring and reporting services needed to supportbusiness-critical collaboration services.
