Dec, 2001 : Air Force Awards EDS Contract for IT Services
📅 - EDS (eds.com) today announced an information technology services blanket purchase agreement with the U.S. Air Force (airforce.com).
The five-year agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, enables the USAFand other U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) organizations worldwide toprocure a wide range of IT-related engineering services through EDS.EDS' teaming partners include several information technology firms thatoffer DoD customers customized services as needed. The award covers a rangeof IT services including infrastructure modernization, applications,information assurance, and training.
Under the terms of the award, EDS will help the Air Force modernize itscombat support information systems, enhancing interoperability andseamlessness in the transition from peacetime readiness to combatoperations. Although much of the work will be performed directly in supportof the Air Force's Standard Systems Group at Montgomery, Alabama, thecontract vehicle is available for use by all DoD organizations worldwide.EDS will manage contract activities through its offices in Montgomery.

The blanket purchase agreement awarded to EDS is one of nine awards made bythe U.S. Air Force with a combined potential value of approximately $650million.
