Infonetics Expects Spending on European App Hosting to Grow 460%


📅 - Between 2001 and 2005, European end-user application hosting service expenditures will grow 460%, from $678 million to $3.8 billion, and worldwide application hosting service expenditures grow 371%, according to Infonetics Research's (infonetics.com) latest study, User Plans for Application Hosting Services, Europe 2001.

"As in the US, the hosting market in Europe has been damaged by the weakeconomy, which has forced many ASPs out of business, along with many dot.combusinesses that were seen as natural customers for hosted applications,"said analyst Jeff Wilson, Infonetics Research's executive director. "On thepositive side, European organizations are more willing than those in the USto buy managed network services, and the decision to outsource applicationsis a natural extension of this tendency."
