Jan, 2002 : F5 Announces Support for Microsoft ISA Server


📅 - F5 Networks, Inc. (f5.com -> hostinger.com), a provider of Internet trafficand content management products, today announced that its BIG-IP productsoffer interoperability with Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration(ISA) Server 2000. The BIG-IP product line provides intelligent loadbalancing and high availability for ISA Server. Customers who deploy BIG-IPwith Microsoft's firewall will get enhanced performance, security, uptime,and scalability for ISA Server implementations, the company said. As part ofthe solution, F5 will be able to deliver programmatic control of BIG-IP/ISAdeployments via its iControl SOAP/XML API.

BIG-IP automatically directs user requests to only those ISA Servers thatare functioning properly and distributes load optimally based upon a varietyof performance and business criteria. The combined BIG-IP/ISA Serversolution provides scalability, fault tolerance, and enhanced performancethrough its approach of load balancing traffic; sharpened security throughthe addition of two hardened security layers via a "firewall sandwich"implementation; and extensible, programmatic control, via iControl'sSOAP/XML API, enabling automated administration, maintenance of multi-serverISA implementations, and ISA Server registration/removal.
