Jan, 2002 : RealNetworks Appoints Two New Vice Presidents

(realnetworks.com), a provider ofInternet media delivery, announced yesterday the promotion of two employeesto vice president status: Steve Banfield as VP, the newly-formed strategicrelations group, and the promotion of Brad Hefta-Gaub to vice president,product development, media systems.
The strategic relations team was created at the corporate level with broadresponsibility across the divisions to work with RealNetworks' ecosystem ofpartners to expand and encourage the breadth and depth of RealNetworks'technologies, products and services across all devices, networks and PCplatforms. This new team will report to Larry Jacobson, COO, RealNetworks,and will work with the product and solutions teams in the media systems andConsumer divisions to insure the support and adoption of RealSystem and theRealOne platform.
"Steve's extensive experience in multimedia and operating systems design anddevelopment, mixed with his business acumen and creative vision made him theideal person to lead the charge for our strategic relations group," saidLarry Jacobson, president and COO, RealNetworks, Inc. Hefta-Gaub will be responsible for the development of all media systemdivision products, including RealSystem iQ Server, Proxy and Producer;RealAudio and RealVideo codec technology; as well as the multimedia playbacktechnology upon which RealOne Player is built.
