(electricmail.com), amessaging and email service provider and software developer, announcedyesterday that Fortune 500 company, Thermo Electron Corporation (thermo.com) has signed an agreement with The Electric Mail company to integrate securescanning services and customized account management for their 12,000employees and 60 subsidiaries worldwide. Thermo Electron is a globaltechnology company serving life sciences, optical technologies andmeasurement and control markets.
The Electric Mail company will integrate a secure scanning and deliveryservice into Thermo Electron's virtual private network operations, enablingemail to travel securely within its subsidiaries, as well as email coming infrom and going out to the Internet. Also, Electric Mail's proprietaryMessaging Maestro application will enable Thermo Electron to betterco-ordinate and homogenize thousands of employee email accounts acrossvarious domain name systems.
"In coordinating our many subsidiaries, our email network is very complexand, indeed, mission critical. As established experts in mail systems of allkinds, we turned to Electric Mail because they truly understood our uniquerequirements," said Michael Kamens, global network manager for ThermoElectron. "Furthermore, they were able to quickly develop some additionalcustom components and deliver the entire solution in a timely andcost-effective manner."
While the specific terms of the agreement are not being disclosed, theexpected revenue and profit contributions are material and immediately placeThermo Electron as one of The Electric Mail Company's top clients.
