📅 - Q9 Networks Inc.(q9.com -> equinix.com), a Canadian provider of outsourced Internet infrastructure services, today announced it has signed a contract to provide the Canadian Olympic Association (COA) with managed hosting services for its new Winter Olympics Web site.
A not-for-profit corporation, The COA is the largest private sector fund-provider of high performance sport in Canada. The new site (coa.ca) is intended as a meeting ground for people within the Canadian Olympic community, and an information source. In future, the site will also include password protected areas for athletes and coaches to help them access information and services. Navantis Inc., (navantis.com) a leading Toronto-based Web services company, designed and will manage the site from Q9's data center in downtown Toronto. "We selected Q9 because we're expecting traffic to spike significantly during the Games. We needed to find a company that we could trust to provide reliable bandwidth on demand,? said Lou Ragagnin, interim Chief Executive Officer of the COA. "As a Canadian-owned and managed company, Q9 is especially proud to have won the COA's hosting business," says Osama Arafat, CEO, Q9 Networks.
