Feb, 2002 : WorldCom and Compaq Join Forces for Hosting, Co-Location

📅 February 26, 2002 - WorldCom (worldcom.com) and Compaq Computer Corporation (compaq.com), todayannounced an agreement to jointly market and promote global WorldCom Webhosting and co-location services. As part of this arrangement, WorldCom isnow a Compaq Strategic Service Provider Alliance Partner.

Under the terms of the joint sales and marketing agreement, WorldCom andCompaq are teaming on sales opportunities, leveraging the combinedcapabilities, products and services of both companies to provide customerswith advanced Web hosting technologies and solutions.
The companies are working together to deliver solutions to enterprisecustomers. These include pre-configured Compaq ProLiant server andStorageWorks hosting solutions, pre-packaged software bundles, andconsulting and customer support services from Compaq Global Services withmanaged Web hosting and co-location services running over WorldCom's globalnetwork, through its own Internet data centers.

WorldCom has standardized on Compaq for its Windows NT/2000 Web hostingplatform. Web hosting services are part of the continuum of digital datacommunications products and services WorldCom provides to businesscustomers.
