Cable & Wireless Signs Deal With Business News Provider Factiva.com

📅 February 25, 2002 - Cable & Wireless (cw.com), a telecommunications company , announced today an agreement with Factiva, a Dow Jones & Reuters Company, which provides business news and information online. Cable and wireless will provide 2Way Web Services to support Factiva's new site (factiva.com) that will grace more than 1.5 million corporate desktops worldwide.

Factiva's global news service includes the Dow Jones and Reuters Newswires andThe Wall Street Journal, plus nearly 8,000 other international sources. Factiva is using Cable & Wireless' 2Transact and 2Deliver services, which provide scaleable Web infrastructure and services to meet the needs of Factiva.com's growing user base and improve the performance of its online business services.
2Transact services include distributed hosting and global private network services that enable storage and delivery of Factiva's news and information services and execute online transactions and interactions in an efficient and secure environment.
"Factiva's global customer base requires reliable delivery of critical news and business information so they can monitor their customers, competitors and markets," said Stacey Gelman, chief product officer for Factiva. "Cable & Wireless allows us to provide top performance to our customers, which makes their business intelligence monitoring and researching transactions as effective and productive as possible."

(globix.com) said Thursday that will delay the filing date of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition until next week, at the request of a committee of its noteholders, reports Reuters.
