Mercury Interactive and Citrix to Create Load Testing Solution

(citrix.com), a provider of virtual workplace software and services, announced yesterday an expanded relationship whereby the two companies will combine Citrix technology with Mercury Interactive'sLoadRunner and Topaz to enable organisations to simulate, test and monitorthe performance of applications deployed with Citrix MetaFrame.
Specifically, the two companies have jointly developed technology to allowLoadRunner and Topaz to emulate, test and monitor Citrix-based applicationserving environments. The alliance enables Mercury Interactive and Citrixcustomers to optimise the performance and scalability of their Citrix-basedapplications and ensure availability, reliability and performance of theirdeployed systems. In addition, the agreement provides customers who meetcertain qualifications with Citrix-certified consulting engagements toassist in the design of a Citrix infrastructure.

"Thecombination of our leadership in enterprise testing and performancemanagement with Citrix will provide customers with greater systemflexibility and scalability, better capacity planning, and improvedperformance."
In addition, Mercury Interactive has become a Premier Member of CitrixBusiness Alliance program in a newly created category for Testing andPerformance Management, and Citrix is now a Validated Integration Partner inMercury Interactive's Open Architecture Program.
Citrix application serving software enables organisations to provide remoteaccess to applications running on central servers from a variety of clientdevices and platforms. The LoadRunner for Citrix solution enables customersto minimise costs by optimising the performance and scalability of theirCitrix solutions, identifying end-user performance issues, and maximisingapplication performance, the company says. In addition, performance monitorsbuilt specifically for Citrix help identify performance issues, which, inconjunction with all other systems, may help quality assurance isolatebottlenecks and reduce end-user response times.
LoadRunner for Citrix will be available from Mercury Interactive in 60 daysand starts at $52K USD for 50 concurrent Citrix users. Topaz for Citrix willbe available from Mercury Interactive in 60 days and starts at $60K USD.
