📅 - KPNQwest (kpnqwest.com), a pan-European data communicationsand hosting company, has announced an agreement with the Estonian nationalpublic broadcaster to provide the content delivery services and backboneinfrastructure for the Eurovision Song Contest (eurovision.tv). The event,now in its 46th year, is scheduled to take place on May 25 May in Tallinn,Estonia. This year promises to be popular, reaching some 100 million viewersworldwide.
KPNQwest, together with its partner Akamai, will provide the solution todeliver this event on the Internet, using audio and video streaming for upto 100,000 viewers through its official site. This content distributionservice allows users to benefit from a robust architecture to support peaktraffic levels. Viewers will be able to participate in online events,receive live commentary and engage in interactive discussions. The event canalso be replayed within one month after the live performance.
