Everyones Internet Upgrades its Houston Data Center Facility
📅 - Everyones Internet announced today plans to improve its 28,000 square foot. data center in Benmar, Houston,. The facility will be used to maintain dedicated web-hosting servers of its web hosting division, RackShack (rackshack.net).
The company purchased the center last November from Verado Holdings, Inc., for $1 million?a savings of over $9.5 million when compared to the construction costs. Now, the company plans to invest an additional half million dollars to upgrade the facility.
?Before being in this facility were collocated inside of one of our carriers facilities in a dedicated area. We represented about 90 per cent of the space win that other facility, and we were growing at the rate of approximately two cabinets every week,? Says Robert March, CEO and President of Everyones Internet.
?So we had signed a letter of intent to build a facility, and then Verado announced that they were liquidating the Houston facility,? he says.
With a 2002 fiscal year end of $18 million net income, Everyones Internet (ev1.net) also purchased new, in-box equipment worth $1.3 million at cents on the dollar. The investment will provide expansion room for the four-year-old RackShack, which specializes in value-oriented, dedicated hosting services.
?We?ve purchased about seven tractor-trailer loads of new equipment, from Verado out of their Colarado warehouses, that will allow us to expand the facility to additional square footage later this year,? says March. ?Our facility is limited to about 19,000 dedicated servers, depending on the density model that employ. Today, we house just under 4,000 servers in the facility.?
