Mar, 2002 : NetScaler and Speedera Deliver Load Balancing

📅 - NetScaler, Inc. (netscaler.com), a leader in developing traffic management products, announced on Tuesday that it has joined forces with Speedera Networks, a leading provider of managed Internet services for e-business, to provide a global and local load balancing solution for content and service providers.

The companies, says NetScaler, will work together to enhance site performance, protection and availability for customers with significant Web traffic and multiple data center locations.
"We are offering our customers the most robust global and local load balancing solution available today," says Patrick J. Conte, general manager and executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for NetScaler. "Customers should see up to 300% increase in end-user response times with superior site protection from both legitimate traffic surges and malicious attacks. Additionally, customers will realize instant scalability with their existing infrastructure that together with enhanced performance and protection generates a significant network ROI."
According to NetScaler, one of the shortcomings of traditional legacy-based global load balancing products is that they are not designed to map the entire Internet. Speedera Networks, says NetScaler, addresses this issue with its Traffic Balancer, which collects performance and availability data from millions of locations on the Internet through a distributed Global Traffic Management system. The data allows for very accurate mapping of the Internet, says the company, which in turn enables the optimal routing of user requests.
The Global Traffic Management system, says NetScaler, is the foundation for Speedera's content delivery network, one of the largest in the world. Traffic balancer uses the Speedera CDN to deliver one of the fastest and most accurate global load balancing solutions in the market.
"In today's economy, businesses need to have the most reliable, fastest and richest Web site for conducting business," said Gordon Smith, vice president of marketing for Speedera Networks. "We built our Traffic Balancer global load balancing service with these businesses in mind and are pleased to deliver an even more comprehensive solution with NetScaler."
Netscaler says its Internet traffic management system is designed to deliver site performance and protection within the data center architecture as well. NetScaler's traffic management systems are built on the company's patent-pending Request Switching technology, designed to manage traffic by directing and controlling it at the application request level.
