divine Expands Content Delivery And Procurement Channels With iPlanet Portal Server

📅 March 25, 2002 - divine, inc.(divine.com), a business solutions provider, today announced the availability of divine Portal Drivers for Sun Microsystem Inc.'s iPlanet Portal Server. Enabling the quick deployment of divine Enterprise Content Center for the iPlanet Portal Server, the five content delivery and procurement portal applications, or channels will be demonstrated at the JavaOne Conference in San Francisco, March 25-29, 2002.

Providing immediate business value to divine and Sun's joint customers, the Enterprise Content Center portlets and iPlanet Portal Server combination enables single-point access to all of an enterprise's external digital content through the portal. As a result, customers are able to control and manage their information expenditures, while enabling portals with single-point access to more than 12,000 content streams.
The five channels for the iPlanet Portal Platform provide companies with content delivery functionality and the tools to measure their return on investment in information resources in real-time. Print Resources Channel enables customers to search and order knowledge resources from more than 200,000 premium content sources, both hardcopy and electronic. Premium Publications Channel provides a gateway to one of the largest XML repositories of business information in the world. Federated Search Channel enables users to search across all information sources, including real-time news, premium publications and applications. Tracker allows administrators to follow and analyze content usage data by source, user and timeframe to fine-tune information investments based on actual use.
Extending its support for the iPlanet platform, divine runs its Content Server 4.0 on leading Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application servers, including the iPlanet Application Server, leveraging the J2EE open architecture and standard components to provide a foundation for e-business initiatives.
