Apr, 2002 : Microsoft, Exodus Communications in Global Alliance

📅 April 17, 2002 - Software giant Microsoft Corp. and Web hosting firm Exodus Communications today announced a partnership aimed at making the development and deployment of XML Web services faster and easier for customers.

Under the agreement, Cable & Wireless, Exodus' parent company, will deploy a distributed Microsoft .NET application platform that will give customers the infrastructure and managed services required to build and manage XML Web services on its hosting network.
"By investing in XML Web services, Exodus is taking the next step in providing leading hosting infrastructure and managed services to our customers," said Bill Austin, CEO of Exodus. "The .NET Platform combined with the Exodus managed hosting and content delivery infrastructure will provide a foundation for the delivery of compelling Web services scenarios to drive greater efficiency, performance and overall business value for Exodus customers."
Exodus said it has already incorporated several .NET technologies in to its service offerings, and plans to introduce its distributed application platform and other services built on .NET technology throughout the year.
