Convergia Selects Global Crossing for Data, Voice, Co-location Services

📅 - Network services firm Global Crossing (globalcrossing.com) said today it had signed a $20 million agreement with Montreal-based Convergia Networks, which specializes in broadband and communications solutions, to provide the company with a combination of data network and voice services across the Americas.

The two-year contract was signed in March, with service expected to begin this month. Under the agreement, Global Crossing will provide Convergia with numerous network services that include private line, co-location and carrier termination services.
"We selected Global Crossing for their comprehensive offering," said Cliff Rees, president of Convergia. "They provide us with the quality and reliability we need for our corporate and residential customers. Global Crossing's network gives us the additional reach we require to offer services to customers throughout the Americas." Convergia has customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
Global Crossing, which provides telecommunications services worldwide, filed for bankruptcy protection in late January in order to restructure its finances.
