Jun, 2002 : IBM Launches Medium Business Management Service
📅 - Global service provider IBM (IBM.com) announced on Monday that it has introduced the "Manage It for Me" program, a suite of service offerings and financing designed to enable customers with fewer than 1,000 employees to outsource their computer operations to IBM Global Services.
The set of 20 new services, says IBM, are designed to allow medium-sized businesses to budget computer costs and take advantage of the latest security, hosting and management services from IBM.
"Over the past decade, IBM Global Services has grown to become the world's leading IT services company and the top consultant firm," says Ralph Martino, vice president of strategy and marketing for IBM Global Services. "When combined with IBM's knowledge of the unique needs of medium-sized businesses, we can deliver specialized services to companies that want to use technology to help them gain competitive advantage."
The "Manage It for Me" services, says IBM, focus on three specific areas, including assurance services, which take advantage of the latest security services designed by IBM Research; infrastructure management services, providing management of desktop and server computers, networks and data storage; and application hosting and management services, designed to help businesses manage their Web sites and establish CRM and other systems.
Along with the new management services, IBM says it will begin testing a new IBM virtual help desk with customers in the UK next month, with US availability expected later this year.
