Nov 5, 2002 : HP Servers Set New Performance Standard

📅 - Computer hardware manufacturer HP (hp.com) announced on Monday that it has achieved record-breaking SAP and TPC-C benchmarks on industry-standard HP ProLiant ML570 and ProLiant DL760 servers respectively.

Both servers use the Intel Xeon processor MP at 2 GHz with Hyper-Threading technology. Incorporating HP's Advanced Memory Protection technology and enterprise management, HP says the servers offer new levels of performance and availability for large database, back-end applications and server consolidation.
HP says it is the first vendor to announce support for the latest Intel Xeon processor MP. The company says its 8-processor industry-standard SMP server broke the 100,000 tpmC threshold, and its four-processor next-generation ProLiant ML570 server achieved 80 percent faster performance in the SAP Standard Application Sales and Distribution Benchmark than the previous generation of ProLiant servers.
"With HP servers, customers can quickly and easily adapt to their ever-changing environments, which enables them to increase productivity and profits," said James Mouton, vice president of platform division, HP Industry Standard Servers, HP. "Our long standing work with Intel puts us in an ideal position to deliver the most advanced industry-standard technologies to customers and to provide the price and performance required to reliably handle demanding enterprise applications."
According to the company, it plans to release the next-generation HP ProLiant DL760 in early 2003. The server is based on the second-generation 8-way ProFusion chipset, and will be the industry's first server with Hot Plug RAID Memory technology.
