📅 - Industry trade and business development organization the MSPAlliance (mspalliance.com) announced on Wednesday that it has released its 2003 Buyer's Guide, a comprehensive list of companies providing products and services related to IT outsourcing.
Updated periodically throughout the year, says the MSPAlliance, the Buyer's Guide is free to download from the organization's Web site. The guide serves as both a promotional tool for MSPAlliance members and as a service for end-user companies that are interested in learning more about outsourcing. "The buyer's guide is an indispensable tool for any company considering outsourcing," said Charles Weaver, president of the MSPAlliance. "Whether a company is looking for a specific service provider or service this guide can assist them in their research."

The company recently activated intra-city metro fiber rings in Hartford, Connecticut; Springfield, Massachusetts; and Providence, Rhode Island. It also activated an inter-city fiver network connecting Hartford and New Haven, Connecticut. 📅 - Cogent Offers Shelter to Genuity Clients - Internet Service Provider Cogent Communications (cogentco.com), said yesterday it would offer service delivery guarantees of 5 business days or less to all Genuity ISP customers in danger of losing service, and to any other ISPs. After finalizing its acquisition of communications carrier Genuity last week, Level 3 Communications announced its plans for integrating the company, which include job cuts, network consolidation and the dropping of smaller Genuity customers. (centurytel.com) announced on Thursday that a federal bankruptcy court has approved the company's $38 million bid to acquire the assets of regional fiber optics communications company Digital Teleport Inc.
