Feb 14, 2003 : Colectric, Elcom Expand E-Marketplace

📅 February 14, 2003 - Remotely-hosted e-procurement and private e-marketplace solution provider Elcom International Inc. (elcominternational.com) announced on Thursday that non-profit power utilities membership organization Colectric Parnters Inc. has contracted Elcom to create an expanded e-marketplace for US public utilities.

According to the terms of the agreement, Elcom will provide the technology platform for e-sourcing and e-procurement, as well as hosting services, and will work closely with Colectric to bring other public power utilities into the Colectric e-marketplace.
The Colectric eMarketplace Connection, says Elcom, is a key element of the organization's supply chain management initiative, and is designed to enable public power utilities to benefit from enhanced collaboration, demand aggregation and the process efficiencies associated with automating the procurement process.
"We are very pleased that Colectric has decided to expand its Supply Chain Management initiative to include a broader range of non-member public power utilities," said Robert J. Crowell, chairman and CEO of Elcom. "The new licensing arrangement between Elcom and Colectric ensures that public power utilities will have affordable access to best of breed technology and very attractive collaborative agreements that contain deeply discounted pricing. Elcom will support Colectric's sales and promotional activities as they expand.
