Mar, 2003 : Savvis Names VP and GM of Hosting Services

📅 March 25, 2003 - Managed IP and managed hosting services provider SAVVIS Communications (SAVVIS.net -> lumen.com) announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Gregory Furst as vice president and general manager of hosting services.

According to SAVVIS, Furst will oversee the company's expanding hosting business, including overall direction and strategy, new initiatives and technologies and market penetration. He will also oversee the continuing assimilation of new customers transferring to the SAVVIS Intelligent Hosting platform from Intel Online Services.
"Greg is a seasoned hosting professional and brings a global perspective to SAVVIS' managed hosting business," said Brad Hokamp, executive vice president, product management and marketing for SAVVIS. "His leadership in high growth hosting operations and data center outsourcing is proving invaluable as we rapidly expand our hosting business on a worldwide basis."
SAVVIS says Furst has held executive positions for both domestically- and internationally-focused data communications and hosting companies, including work as vice president of sales for managed hosting provider Digex Inc.
