May, 2003 : F5 Releases Management Solution for Blade Servers
📅 - F5 Networks (f5.com -> hostinger.com) today announced that the newest generation of its BIG-IP software is now available for F5's BIG-IP Blade Controller product. BIG-IP Blade Controller is a traffic management solution that allows customers deploying blade servers to use F5's Universal Inspection Engine (UIE) and security capabilities for Denial of Service (DoS) protection and real-time application security.
The new version leverages Application Traffic Management technology, allowing enterprises and service providers to process any mission-critical application or Web service and read any value(s) of an IP-based packet header or payload and direct it to the appropriate resource - based on precise business criteria and requirements.
The one-year old BIG-IP Blade Controller, according to F5, is quickly becoming the definitive standard for intelligent traffic management for blade servers - optimizing performance, availability and scale for blade application deployments.
CRG (crgevents.com), an events management company, currently uses blade servers and BIG-IP Blade Controller for high availability and Web performance. "CRG provides professional services and Web-based applications for event planning, registration and management and a key component of our business requires us to securely deliver applications over the Internet," said Scott Hakinson, vice president of IT at CRG - Total Event Solutions. ?We're excited about the power of F5's Application Traffic Management and this next generation of BIG-IP software for blade servers. This gives us the assurance that we can deploy best practice network architectures, with enterprise-class security, that can be built quickly and inexpensively without having to make application changes or buy expensive high-end servers."
F5 Networks is a Seattle-based developer of secure and robust traffic management solutions for Web applications. The new version of BIG-IP Blade Controller software delivers application intelligence and security, protecting sites from the heaviest attack volumes and the most common threats against the network
The new version of BIG-IP Blade Controller is available today at a base price of US$6,500.
