May, 2003 : Northern Light Search Engine Re-acquired
📅 - Search engine Northern Light (northernlight.com) announced last week that it has been resurrected as separate company. C. David Seuss, former CEO of Northern Light, purchased the remaining assets of Northern Light at Divine's bankruptcy auction held three weeks ago.
Seuss said he contacted Northern Light's corporate customers following the purchase who had not fled during the Divine era and assured them that the company would be returning customer support to its "customary" high levels. ?Each member of the original Northern Light team valued meeting customers? needs above all else,? Seuss explained. ?I have already begun to put that team back in place.?
The company reported that several customers have already renewed contracts in anticipation of Northern Light's return.
Seuss also said the company plans to release a 64-bit enterprise version of the Northern Light search engine.
"We have loyal corporate customers. We have the best search and classification technology. We have dedicated employees who earnestly aspire to the highest standards of customer support,? said Seuss, "and we are already profitable.? Seuss said the company is currently working on several approaches with partners to its popular Web search program.
Northern Light is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
