Jul, 2003 : Infonetics: Security Boosting Hosting Spending
📅 - Security is driving up IT spending across the board, according to the latest market research study by Infonetics Research (infonetics.com), and Web hosting is no exception to this trend.
Infonetics estimates that organizations worldwide will increase their spending on hosting services by 91 percent between 2003 and 2007, with the aggregate totals jumping from $3.3 billion to $6.4 billion. The corresponding numbers for data center products are a rate 27 percent and aggregate totals rising from $7.3 billion to $9.3 billion.
"There is continued strong demand for hosting services among organizations of all sizes, despite Cable & Wireless' and Sprint's announced exits from the US hosting market," said Neil Osipuk, lead analyst of the study. "Respondents participating in our study plan to increase their expenditures on hosting services by more than 50 percent over the next two years. This is good news for the hosting service providers who have not joined the exodus of providers who are crawling, limping, or sprinting away from the market."
User and Service Provider Plans for Data Centers and Hosting, North America 2003 is a 343-page and 118-exhibit study.
